Your weekend: Dining out for life
I know I’m running a little late on this one, folks, but better late than never: Tonight a number of restaurants on the Island and beyond will participate in Dining Out for Life, an annual fundraiser for AIDS service organizations.
Here’s how it works: Eat dinner at a participating restaurant and they’ll donate 25 percent of your tab. Local restaurants participating this year include Angela’s, BarCeluna, C’era Una Volta, Havana, The Hob Nob, the New Zealander, Otaez Mexican Restaurant (they’ll donate for lunch and dinner), Pappo and Speisekammer (which is donating 30 percent of the tabs).
The event spans thousands of restaurants in 55 cities and raises an estimated $4 million a year. And here’s the best part: Most of the money raised by the event stays local.
