Man convicted in Lancaster killing
The Chronicle is reporting that Michael James Edgar, 20, has been convicted of first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of Troy Lancaster, 19, last year.
Edgar was convicted of killing Lancaster last August 4 in the courtyard of the Esperanza housing complex on Brush Street, the newspaper reports. Prosecutors said Edgar was angry that Lancaster had exchanged flirtatious text messages with Edgar’s girlfriend, and he believed Lancaster had sided with another friend in a fight.
According to the report, Edgar is scheduled to be sentenced on May 1.
