ALAMEDA POLICE INVESTIGATE PARK AVENUE HOMICIDE
Alameda police are investigating a homicide that occurred on Park Avenue last night.
Police said they got a 911 call at 8:57 p.m. Tuesday from someone who said they heard a woman yelling for help. They responded to an apartment in the 1200 block of Park Avenue and found the victim, a 40-year-old man who they have not yet identified, dead of an apparent stab wound.
Police said the suspect, a 62-year-old man who they also have not identified, was on scene and that he immediately confessed to killing the victim. They said he was taken into custody without incident.
Both men were Alameda residents.
Police said some kind of argument preceded the killing, but did not offer further details regarding a motive. They said their investigations division and the Alameda County Coroner’s Office are still investigating the crime.
We’ll give you more details as they emerge.
