Your weekend: Retro reels
This month, the folks at the Alameda Theatre & Cineplex started showing classic movies in the Historic Alameda Theatre.
“It’s always been something that I had planned on doing, a sampling of indie films and a retro calendar,” Theatre chief Kyle Conner said. “We have had a lot of requests from the community to have this kind of entertainment.”
The theatre will be showing “North by Northwest” today. Next Wednesday and Thursday it’s “The Maltese Falcon,” and the following week we’re back to Hitchcock with “Rear Window.”
Tickets for the shows are the same as for new flicks – $10 for adults; $7.50 for seniors, military and kids under 12; and $7.50 for all shows that start before 4 p.m.
