Your weekend: Getting chili
The Kiwanis Club of Alameda is holding its 10th Annual Chili Cook-Off and Barbecue Dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, January 31 at the Albert H. DeWitt Officers Club, 641 W. Redline Avenue on Alameda Point. Tickets are $50, $25 for kids ages 5-12.
In addition to the food, the event includes a silent auction and dancing. Western attire is encouraged. Silent auction items include a dinner for six from a private chef, a tiki party for 12, a movie night with Emmy-winning “Friday the 13th” writer/soap scribe Victor Miller and more.
