Your weekend: Alameda Holiday Home Tour
Admit it, this Island is chock full of cool houses, and you love to check them out. Well, here’s a home tour that fits right in with the spirit of the season.
The Alameda Family Services League is hosting its 38th annual Alameda Holiday Home Tour this Friday and Saturday, December 12 and 13. The event is a fundraiser for Alameda Family Services, with all of the money going to support the agency’s counseling services for families.
Friday night’s Candlelight Preview is from 6 to 9 p.m., and it’s followed by a party at the Encinal Yacht Club, 1251 Pacific Marina. The party, which starts at 7:30 p.m., includes champagne, a light supper and dancing. Festive holiday attire is suggested. Tickets are $75.
On Saturday, the tour runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Stops on the tour will include the homes, “decked out to the nines” for the holidays, plus an arts and crafts boutique featuring gifts an home decor items and a gourmet shoppe with specially wrapped baked goods, candies and specialty food items for sale.
There’s also a dessert tea from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church which includes a silent auction of household treasures. Lunch will also be available at the Encinal Yacht Club from noon to 2 p.m. And van service is provided from the Yacht Club for all the stops.
Tickets for Saturday’s tour are $30 in advance, $35 on the day of the event.
