O Christmas tree
Haven’t got your Christmas tree yet, and you don’t feel like going off-Island to shop for it? Well, you’re in luck. There’s a whole bunch of places you can go to shop for your tree right here. Let me tell you about them!
Probably the best selection in town is over at Encinal Nursery, 2057 Encinal Avenue. They’ve got the classic Noble Fir and Douglas Fir, plus Silvertips and more. Noble first run from $42.50 for a four- to five-foot-tall tree to $90 for a seven- to eight-foot tall tree; Silvertips run from $30 for a little one to $200 for one that looks about 10 feet tall.
They’ve got garland, poinsettias, wreaths and more. And I hear that they’ll deliver your tree, for a fee.
Next up is Calvary Christian Center, 1516 Grand Street. They’ve also got a great selection and the lot is run by an assortment of cheerful, helpful kids. We got our tree here; Noble firs run $9 a foot, and they’ve got a bunch of other tree varieties too.
Lucky’s at Marina Village has got trees too, though the selection is smaller; they’re $39.99 each. They’re seven- to eight-foot Noble firs.
And if you’re looking for a more petite tree (on a more petite budget), Light of the World Church has a lot on Central at Walnut (pictured) with an assortment of smaller trees, which are $15-$25 each.
AND I just learned that you can get a treet at Nob Hill Foods at Bridgeside Center … Noble firs for $37.
