Your weekend: Cars
Love cars? Well, you’re in luck, ‘coz there’s not one but two car shows in town this weekend. First up is Park Street’s 15th Annual Classic Car Show, which is being held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. I think they sold out spaces for cars to enter the show but anyone can head on down there and look around, and that’s free. They’ll have live entertainment, prizes and more, plus more than 400 classic cars, hot rods, antique muscle cars and vintage fire trucks. And the best part is, Alameda Bicycle will provide free valet bike parking. The show is hosted by the Crankers Car Club. Want more info? The flyer is here; or you can call the Park Street Business Association (whose Robb Ratto is going crazy this week to put on this shindig), at 523-1392.
Then on Sunday, the Alfa Romeo Association of California is hosting at All Italian Car and Motorcycle Show, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lincoln Middle School, 1250 Fernside Blvd. Exhibitor registration opens at 8:30 a.m., and all Italian vehicles are welcome. They’ll have Italian food, too. The entrance donation is $5, free for kids under 18. The event is a benefit for the Alameda Special Olympics program. More information, here.
