Mi CASA es su CASA
So before we get too far away from it, we just wanted to drop a note in here to let you know that the ideas generated by folks who attended the kickoff for Community Action for a Sustainable Alameda are now online.
There’s all kinds of good stuff in here, generated by folks in your community, including basic stuff like making info on how to be greener more available to little chits (Gold star on your AP&T bill! Bumper stickers!) and stuff like better recycling programs at schools and community gardens.
The link above will take you to the city’s CASA page, which also has info on Alameda’s local action plan for climate change. And if you’re interested in getting involved with CASA, their next meeting is October 30.
While we’re on it … one of the ideas generated by the CASA participants was sustainable development at Alameda Point (one table listed this as essential). Apparently, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a landmark anti-sprawl bill yesterday. Fellowblogger John Knox White’s got the deets right here.
