Looks like most of the Planning Board’s agenda has been continued for tonight, except for a field trip to Bridgeside Center and an item on form-based codes.
So what’s that, you say? A smart growth revolution, baby!
Basically, instead of having all these wordy, confusing (and often conflicting) zoning codes that have caused endless hours of bickering and hard feelings among neighbors, we’ll have a series of pretty pictures showing us what can and can’t be built! Instead of dickering over parking, facades and landscaping, it’ll all be in them thar pictures, no masters in urban design required.
So the board will just be talking about this tonight, with the aid of the design folks who brought you the North of Linc- er, Gateway District Strategic Plan. I guess they’ve talked about this in the past for the business districts and Alameda Point. You can get the 411 here (it’s item 9A).
