Your weekend: For our benefit
The next two weekends greet us with a pair of local benefit events, for Alameda Hospital and the Alameda Animal Shelter. The Alameda Hospital Foundation’s annual fall gala, which this year is themed “All That Jazz Goes Hollywood,” is this Saturday at Point Marina Vista, 1051 Pacific Marina. The black tie-optional event starts at 6:30 p.m. According to the Journal, the $175 per person ticket price covers food, dancing, poker and more. You can buy your tickets here or by calling 814-4600.
Next Saturday, Sept. 20, Autobody Fine Art will host “The Dog Days of Summer,” a benefit for the Alameda Animal Shelter and Northern California German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue, from 6 to 9 p.m. And they’ll have a vocal performance by Portuguese “Fado” singer Ramana Vieira, hors d’oevres from Flying Monkey Catering in Marin, beer and wine and a silent auction featuring pet portraiture, a dog training course and gift baskets from all your favorite local merchants.
Tickets are $20, $10 for seniors, and are available at the door. Autobody is at 1517 Park Street, right up the stairs. For more information, call Jacqueline Cooper at Autobody, at 881-6974 or 865-2608, or the shelter’s volunteer coordinator, Tina Aedo, at 337-8573 (or email her at email@example.com).
And the Alameda Association of Realtors is hosting its Fourth Annual Funky Formal from 6:30 to 11 p.m. October 4 at Bayside Pavilion, 2203 Mariner Square Loop. Tickets are $80 per person, $900 per 10-person table, $2,000 for a 10-person Chef’s Table. The event includes a silent auction and a raffle with a one-week Hawaiian getaway as the grand prize. The association is also looking for sponsors. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Alameda Food Bank. For tickets and information, call the association at 523-7229 or click here.
