Superintendent search: Get involved!
The school board is seeking your input in its search for a new superintendent to replace Ardella Dailey, who retires from the job on January 1.
If you’ve got something to say about what qualities our new supe should have, you can offer those at a meeting tonight at Lum Elementary, where the folks from search consultant California School Boards Association will be waiting, marking pens in hand we’re sure.
If you can’t make this one and want the chance to add your input, don’t fret: there’ll be another meeting on September 22, at Ruby Bridges elementary. Both meetings are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. You can also schedule an appointment to give your input during the day today or on the 22nd by calling Kathleen Brooks at 337-7101. Or submit your input in writing to the superintendent’s office at 2200 Central Avenue. Note “superintendent search” on your letter.
Applications for the job are due October 22, and the board – with at least one new member on deck – will conduct interviews in mid-November.
For the hat trick of new school folks, the district expects to have a permanent chief financial officer in place early next month, to replace former CFO Luz Cazares. As we reported earlier, Krishna Kirpalani, who served as chief business official for Redwood City’s schools for 23 years, has stepped in as interim.
