Clif Bar back to the table
Looks like the folks at Clif Bar are once again considering moving their headquarters to Alameda Landing. And Target’s looking increasingly possible there too, per Aidan Barry, vice president of commercial development for Catellus here in Northern California.
On Monday night, Barry told the Planning Board that his company is in “detailed discussions” with the energy bar maker and that while they are looking at other sites, “they are still heavily considering Alameda Landing as their home.”
Berkeley-based Clif Bar pulled out of an agreement to move into Alameda Landing this past spring, after Catellus said it couldn’t deliver the company’s building by September as planned, according to this article in the Alameda Sun. A spokesperson said at the time that the company was looking at other sites in Alameda, Oakland, Emeryville, San Francisco and Richmond.
Barry said Catellus is also having “detailed conversations” with Target about setting up shop at Alameda Landing – a move that could bring other retailers who were iffy about coming into the project back on board. He said his company will talk to some of said retailers next week.
“We are extremely encouraged,” Barry told the Planning Board. “We have some strong momentum.”
As always, more to come when there’s more to come …
