Seeking super superintendent
SEEKING SUPER SUPERINTENDENT: Alameda Unified School District is seeking a new superintendent. Our current supe, Ardella Dailey, retires January 1. We just lost our crack CFO, so we’re in a world of hurt. And we’ve got a big school board election coming up this fall.
Ideal candidate will have classroom teaching and successful school site and district level administrative experience, experience working with a diverse student population, and a master’s degree. Must be honest, fair, trustworthy, cooperative, communicative, decisive, visible, sensitive, active in the community and willing to listen to opinions. Lots and lots of opinions. Must be a motivational, visionary leader who can work with teachers, parents, students and school board members, with a keen ability to balance the books. Windows a plus. Pay $185,000 to $200,000, negotiable. Consult California School Boards Association to apply.
Wanna know more? The school board will discuss the process for selecting our new superintendent at its meeting tonight at City Hall (we think it’s at City Hall, anyway; the agenda hadn’t been posted online as of last night), and there will be community meetings to discuss what qualities this new superintendent should have on September 8 and 22. Anyhoo, all the details are available on trusty Trustee Mike McMahon’s website, here.
