UPDATE 12:02 P.M.: Looks like there’s 30,000 absentee ballots to be counted for the whole of Alameda County, per ROV spokesman Guy Ashley. They’ve also got 6,500 provisional ballots countywide that need to be checked out before they are counted. That’s on top of about 175,000 votes already cast and counted in Alameda County (about 14,000 of them here in our fair Island city). Measure H hangs by a thread, with 65.8 percent of the vote (it needs 66.67 percent to pass). Registrar Dave Macdonald sent this note clarifying the post-vote count process to local blogger Don Roberts, which he has posted to his Alameda Daily News site. More to come …
