New money for high school sports

Submitted by on 1, March 7, 2008 – 2:54 pmNo Comment

Looks like the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame is donating a $30,000 matching grant for high school sports in Alameda, and KNBR 680 radio is partnering to help us make the match, in part by reaching out to professional athletes who once competed in our city’s sports programs, the Alameda Education Foundation is announcing today. AEF is asking folks to tune in to Tom Tolbert from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today. To donate or for more information, check out AEF’s website at http://www.alamedaeducation.org/. And check back with us for more information, including (hopefully) an update on Alameda high school student leaders’ meeting with state schools chief Jack O’Connell today.
