Lottery redux

There’s an update on the Franklin and Edison lotteries on the school district’s website at: http://www.alameda.k12.ca.us/education/components/calendar/default.php?sectiondetailid=3&d=5&m=3&y=2008&et=day&PHPSESSID=780ae8f80526a3f0fc4630cdf59dcbf6 8:30 am at Edison, 3 pm at Franklin. Parents will be notified of the results in writing after the random drawings. Thanks to Donna Fletcher at AUSD for the update!

It shows that Alameda ranks almost dead last in the county in the amount of sales tax it rakes in per resident (only Piedmont did worse). Well, it’s official: Kindergartners slated to enter Edison and Franklin schools this fall will be facing a lottery. The district has not yet set a date, spokeswoman Donna Fletcher said.
